Helping FRONT LINE MISSIONARIES

is our PASSION!

Are you one of those missionaries like me, who prayed for M u s l i m s, but knew very little about them? You went to the mission field, not even assigned to work in M u s l i m ministries and yet found yourself among them... with no formal training to share your faith? You found little help and resources were difficult to find?  If this describes you, the I s a Project CD was designed with you in mind.

In 1976, I arrived to my first missionary assignment in Africa. My job was in literature work. I was living in a village environment where my back yard ended in the village.

Soon, I became very aware of the I s l a m i c community round about me. In the villages, the shops, the stores, the fishermen . . . everywhere there were M u s l i m s.  I found myself woefully ignorant of I s l a m  and of M u s l i m s in general.

As I shared my faith with my new friends, I was opposed by their doctrine -  sometimes familiar, most often bitter. I felt shamed at my ignorance of their faith and not being able to give an answer for the reason of the hope that was in me. I was also frustrated as to how my lack of understanding of their culture and religion kept me from making friends easily.

I turned to other missionaries and tried to find materials locally available to enlighten me of my new found friends and their faith. Very little was available on M u s l i m resources. So few in fact, that I became very frustrated. In 1977 I prayed a prayer in frustration. I asked God to give me the desire of my heart. I wanted to do everything I could to see that others  would not share the same disappointment and frustrations I did.

Since that time, many things have changed. Far more is now available for  M u s l i m  ministry resources. Books, booklets, tracts, audio tape, and now, videotape. There are many excellent organizations devoting time, energy, and funds addressing those needs. We wish to partner with their vision as they donate the use of their resources through our CD

Missions by Modem International has been raised up for this purpose; to serve as a conduit where so many, who have developed excellent resources, now have a way of getting those helps into the hands of the people who need them most and into the hearts who are the most resistant.

About five years ago, while doing postgraduate studies in California, I made a proposal for this CD project and others outlined in the projects area of this site. We are now preparing our 4th version for distribution.

With joy, we have been watching God supply our needs and we continue to depend on Him to provide. Hundreds of CDs have been distributed and we are preparing more to ship at this time.

Please pray and partner with us to reach M u s l i m s for Christ. Help support this ministry by giving so the CDs can be produced and sent to our missionaries who need it most... and free of charge.

Gifts are tax deductible and all proceeds go directly to this ministry and NOT to the personal support of any individual or mission agency. This is a joint effort by more than 40 members worldwide and several mission agencies are participating.
