Project - CD-ROM

A multimedia CD filled with more than a thousand
resources for those involved in M U S L I M ministries. It is
configured as an Intranet resource which follows the Internet browser
format. It can be used off-line for accessing all the resources on the
CD. In addition, it has been developed to interconnect with the
Internet. Once on-line, simply insert the CD into your CD-ROM player,
go to FILE and open the CD from your CD-ROM drive, click default and
away you go.
You DO NOT have to have Internet service to use the CD nor do you have
to be on-line. However, the active links in
the CD will connect you to more than a thousand other Internet
sites which are included on the CD.
All programs necessary to use the CD are included on the CD itself.
The Internet Explorer® and MultiMedia® (registered trademarks of
Microsoft Inc.) allow you to hear and see the audio and video tapes on
the CD. Adobe Reader® (registered trademarks of Adobe) is included to
view certain documents. All these programs are included by permission
or license agreements we have with the manufacturers.

This project is designed to do two things. First, to connect the
educational community in Christian institutions to the REAL-TIME
research needs of missionaries and mission institutions worldwide.
Second, to encourage the research and submission of high quality
offerings that might not otherwise be published in institutional or
commercial venues.
- Passing the Torch
project

The purpose of this project is to link together new missionaries
and missionary candidates with retiring missionaries and others with
significant experiences in mission for the purpose of pre-field
preparation, development of mentors and prayer intercessors.

The goal are:
1) to rapidly equip missionaries for their fields of
service with more
relevant and specific
information concerning their focus group
2) to establish a method by which transfer of
relationships and trust
from one missionary generation to
another can be actualized
3) to garner the expertise of experienced
missionaries as they are
returning from their fields
of service
4) to redeem the time God has given us by PASSING
the TORCH of
commitment that will
empower one generation and enlighten and equip
another.
E-mail will be the primary means of linking together these
missionaries. However, conventional methods of communication will also
be offered.

The primary focus would be, but not exclusively to, those on
an entry level of learning or experience.

We at MBMINTL are committed to cutting two years of the first 4
years of the training and learning cycle of those preparing to serve
Christ among M U S L I M S. In order to do this, we are preparing ways
and means to equip those preparing for this kind of ministry.

Some of the information will be placed onto CDs and others will be
housed on a computer server for real-time access via password access.

These offerings will include, reference materials which can be used
in an academic context, self-directed study programs on CD, Basic
internship syllabus with reference materials on the CD, audio and
video tapes for training purposes, current field information, and
other resources.
